2nd Line IT Engineer

Location: Reigate, Surrey 

Department: IT Service and Support

Due to our ongoing growth within the IT Sector we are currently recruiting for an ambition 2nd Line IT Engineer to provide effective 2nd line support to Opus Technology clients, working seamlessly alongside the Opus Group Service Desk. You will already have had a high level of exposure and familiarisation with Microsoft technologies and be competent and/or have knowledge of Networking, Firewall management, Azure, Mimecast, EDR, Intune.

As an individual you will have a high level of personal motivation and a willingness to adapt and work in a fast paced organisation. You will also be able to communicate effective at all levels both internally and externally.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • High level of exposure and familiarisation with Microsoft technologies, with proven industry experience.
    • Office 365, SharePoint, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Desktop Support within Windows, Windows Server Technology (on Premise and Microsoft Azure), Active Directory Administration.
    • Networking, Firewall management, Azure, Mimecast, EDR, Intune.
  • Familiarisation working according to industry best practice, such as ITIL service strategy.
  • High level of personal motivation.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Positive attitude and behaviour, as well as trustworthy, credible and reliable nature.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide effective 2nd line support to Opus Technology clients, working seamlessly alongside the Opus Group Service Desk.
  • Work aligned to helpdesk service levels agreements (SLAs).
  • Track time utilisation
  • Assist with new customer IT deployments.
  • Provide effective and coordinated technical and hierarchical escalation to 3rd line where required.
  • Maintain accurate ticketing records, categories and knowledgebase within CRM system.
  • Provide technical recommendations for optimisation of client solutions.
  • Effective management of suppliers.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the IT industry and provide new ideas to help expand the technical services portfolio.
  • As an individual, deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain and up-to-date skills matrix
